| So i'm planning to go on my first audition in Toronto (the 29th) - and i've got confirmation for it along with my time that i'm supposed to be there.
I asked a question on my application but they did not answer me.
So i'll ask anyone else who has been there (possibly - i doubt it tho - that has been in a similar position) that knows how things work.
So as you all know, i'm a rapper lol, I can't really sing, but there was no category for rapping. So my question is, is rapping considered part of the singing category? They had model category, dance category, and singing category - I believe that's it.
Ahh help! |

| SME's not a company known for their rappers. If anything, they only give the "rapper" (I use that term loosely) position to the singers they have no idea how to train and improve (or they really need no training, just the right songs to capitalize their strengths on), but want to see debut and hope they improve on their own (See: Minho and Amber who are bass and alto respectively in a company that's more suited to sopranos and tenors. They can both sing well, but they're not given songs that allow them to show it because their group is known for Luna/Krystal and Jonghyun/Onew who have higher voices and are the leads/mains). Plus, the only reason they have rappers anyway is cause it's the trend and "cool", not because they genuinely like hip hop. If you want to rap exclusively, write (hopefully you do), and have a bit of creative control and be able to say "the English makes no sense", then I really recommend auditioning for YG, Jungle, or Woollim which have more rappers and not-quite-singers than singers/power vocalists. |

| Ahh I've auditioned for SM twice, and YG once. I rapped at my SM audition the first time, but they really aren't looking for rappers, just singers and people with nice faces. YG was more accepting of rap, though. |
